Recovery concierge is a term used for help organizing practical support around care. This guide uses it to describe coordination, navigation, and continuity, not a promise of clinical treatment or emergency response.
Name the work you actually need.
Start with the tasks: comparing providers, arranging agreed appointments, coordinating records, preparing travel, supporting daily routines, or organizing a return home. A clear brief is more useful than an open-ended promise to manage everything.
Separate coordination from treatment.
A coordinator can help arrange care but does not automatically diagnose, prescribe, provide psychotherapy, or supervise withdrawal. Identify the qualified professional responsible for each clinical decision. A premium service label does not establish credentials.
Compare the main support roles.
Treatment navigation helps organize a comparison of options. Case management brings an agreed plan and communication together. A sober companion may provide practical presence, while a recovery coach focuses on agreed goals and routines. Titles alone do not establish scope.
Set communication and privacy boundaries.
Agree who is the client, who is paying, which professionals participate, and which information each person may receive. Payment or administrative involvement should not be treated as automatic permission to receive clinical details.
Ask for a written service plan.
Request named personnel, availability, escalation routes, backup, travel expenses, fees, cancellation terms, and review dates. Ask how changes in need will be recognized and referred to the appropriate clinician.
Make continuity part of the brief.
For a residential stay, identify local follow-up before departure and agree how information will be handed over with authorization. Aftercare is more than a general promise of continued contact.
