Intervention and recovery concierge across the USA

Find intervention, family guidance, sober companions and recovery coordination across the USA. Compare local support and separate residential options abroad.

Find a starting point near home. Explore intervention, family guidance, sober companionship, and recovery coordination by state and local area, with a separate route for people considering residential treatment abroad.

Start with the need, then the location.

A search for an interventionist may reflect several needs: help preparing a conversation, a professional assessment, practical coordination, or support after treatment. Describe what is happening and what assistance is requested before choosing a service. A planned family intervention is not an emergency response.

Use state and local resources.

Use the official USAGov state-health directory and SAMHSA state-agency resources linked below for information across all 50 states and Washington, DC. Our completed state guides are listed at the end of this page. Geographic information is not a claim that Private Intervention operates an office or has a professional available in any location.

Ask what can actually be provided locally.

Confirm the name and role of the professional, whether they are locally based or traveling in, the agreed location, and the follow-up plan. Ask which tasks are clinical and which are practical support. A national website or telephone number alone does not establish local availability.

  • For intervention: preparation, family participation, approach, and what happens if the person declines.
  • For companionship: hours, boundaries, supervision, backup arrangements, and total costs.
  • For coordination: named responsibilities, permitted communication, records, and local clinical handover.

Keep public and affordable routes visible.

FindTreatment.gov and the NIAAA Alcohol Treatment Navigator are starting points for researching treatment. A professional or official local resource can help clarify an appropriate assessment. Do not assume that travel abroad or a premium residential setting is needed.

Residential treatment abroad: two different formats.

THE BALANCE and COGNIFUL are the only residential programs profiled here. THE BALANCE describes individually dedicated residential care in Mallorca and Zurich; COGNIFUL describes primarily individual treatment within a small shared residence in Mallorca. They are related programs, not US residential facilities. Clinical suitability and an agreed admission must be established before travel.

Build the return-home plan before departure.

Identify local follow-up, how records will be shared with authorization, and which practical support continues. Ask for written costs and inclusions, including travel and additional services. An introduction, companion assignment, and residential treatment should each have clear scope.

When the situation cannot wait.

For an immediate threat to life or a medical emergency, call 911. Call or text 988 for suicide or mental health crisis support, including concern about someone else. Do not wait for a commercial website response.
